Authorities at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York activated the airport’s hijacking protocols at approximately 8 p.m. last night, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, just before a JetBlue flight was about to takeoff, because the airplane lost radio contact, signaling it may have been hijacked.
A connection was re-established about 15 minutes later when the crew communicated it was a false alarm. By then however, the massive emergency response action could not be recalled, and the police stormed the plane.
